Conventional Open Vent Boilers

Choose the right regular boiler for your home

Conventional boilers can also commonly be referred to as regular boilers, open vent boilers, or heat-only boilers. Whilst there are many different names for this type of gas boiler, they refer to a boiler which provides central heating and hot water through a hot water cylinder, often installed in an airing cupboard, and a cold water tank which is usually installed in the loft.

A regular boiler is the perfect choice for larger households with multiple bathrooms, as they can provide a lot of hot water all at once. Browse our range of regular boilers below.

For smaller households, we would recommend taking a look at our range of combi boilers and system boilers which deliver the same high-performance and cost-efficient service that you have come to expect from Vaillant, but with a more compact footprint.

How do conventional gas boilers work?

To heat hot water a vented boiler takes a cold water supply from your main water supply and stores this in the cold water feed tank ready to be heated. Cold water is then fed into the hot water cylinder and your boiler heats the water in the cylinder where it is stored until needed.

What are the benefits of an open vent boiler?

An open vent, or heat-only, boiler is a good choice for households that have a high demand for hot water; heating water for your shower, hot taps and washing machine simultaneously without breaking a sweat.

A new heat-only boiler system is ideally suited to a home which already has a traditional heating system in place or a household which has an older radiator system which might not be able to cope with higher water pressure that is delivered by a system or combi boiler.
