The Concept

With origins dating back to the 1700s, Cavendish Hotel is part of the Chatsworth Estate in Baslow, Derbyshire.

Replacing their ageing mix of Potterton wall-hung and floor-standing boilers in this historic building was always going to be a challenge so Vaillant’s extensive expertise and dedicated support meant they were the perfect partner to Universal Gas Services for such a difficult project.

Site visits and guidance provided by the Vaillant team ensured that the products specified met the needs of the client in the best possible way. The expertise of the team were put to good use with a plant room that was incredibly small with no exit for concentric flues so the boilers had to use an old brick chimney with a new flue liner.

The new system comprising of four ecoTEC plus 65kW wall-hung condensing boilers, incorporating all the same high performance and efficiency features as its smaller domestic counterparts, together with a VRC 630 boiler management system and two 600 litre high recovery cylinders. The VRC 630 weather compensating control provides time programmes that enable simple control of complex systems, with up to eight room/ zone controls for ease of use so proved to be a valuable addition.

With such an efficient system delivered into a difficult space, the client has been delighted with the reliability and improved comfort levels for guests at the hotel.
