Need to know

Vaillant Maintenance Plans are only suitable for domestic boilers under 8-years-old that are in good working order and out of guarantee. Your boiler also shouldn’t be protected by a similar product.

The plan excludes the cost of repairs for scale and sludge, malicious and cosmetic damage, indirect costs, and problems related to the initial installation.

We’ll remind you when an annual service is due to book your Vaillant engineer visit.

Vaillant Maintenance Plans

How long can I protect my boiler for?

For central heating systems, you can get a 12-month protection plan and then renew it annually. There’s no age limit on renewals.

How can I pay for the Vaillant Maintenance Plan?

You can pay monthly by Direct Debit over the length of the plan. When you pay by Direct Debit you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. Plus, your plan will automatically renew each year, ensuring there’s no break in your boiler’s protection.

How plan renewals work?

Domestic & General will send you a plan continuation reminder 21 days before your Vaillant Protection Plan comes to an end, as the payment is done via Direct Debit it will automatically continue until you cancel the plan.

Boiler types

Is my boiler too old to be protected?

You can take out a plan for a combination or condensing boiler if it's under 8-years-old.

Conventional boilers must be under 8-years-old.

After you’ve taken out a plan on your boiler, there’s no age limit on renewals.

How do I know what kind of boiler I have?

If you have a hot water tank or an airing cupboard, you have a conventional boiler. If not, you have a combination boiler.

Do you need to inspect my boiler first?

No, we don't. Your boiler protection will start 30 days after receipt of your application. However, your boiler must be in good working condition when you apply or your plan might be invalidated.

Boiler repairs

What’s the maximum value of boiler repairs I can have?

We’ll cover the cost of approved repairs, or provide a replacement boiler, up to the value of £750 or £1,500 a year, depending on the plan you choose.
If a repair is estimated to cost more than £150, the engineer will confirm before going ahead with the work.

Will I pay more if I need several repairs?

No, you can request as many repairs as you need while your plan is valid.

What do I do if I have a problem with my boiler or central heating?

To request a repair please contact us by telephone. The telephone number will be shown on your plan document.

Can I find a boiler engineer myself?

Only if we advise you to. The work of our engineers is monitored and guaranteed, and we ensure they carry public liability insurance. That’s why we prefer all repairs to be carried out by our approved engineers.

What do I do if I smell gas?

Don't turn on any lights or electrical equipment, as they generate a spark.

Open all doors and windows in your house. Go outside and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. They will send an engineer to make your boiler safe. You can then contact us for an engineer to come and repair your boiler.
