Vaillant Launches Flexible Flue Solution for High Rise Buildings

In response to The Building (Amendment) Regulations SI 2018/1230, often referred to as the high rise combustibles ban, Vaillant has developed a versatile flue which offers a compliant rear and balcony solution as well as standard top installation.

Applicable to all buildings in England and Wales higher than 18 metres, and 11 metres in Scotland, the regulation change requires that no product containing combustible material is allowed to pass through the external wall of a building. Vaillant’s High Rise Flue Terminal Kit is made from Aluminum, which is a class A material under the new regulations, ensuring the highest level of safety.

Also available is an accompanying stainless steel high rise extension kit, with Class A rated inner exhaust pipe, perfect for longer flue runs. When combined with the existing polypropylene terminal and range of extensions, bends and elbows, this delivers a simple balcony flue solution, additional to the rear and top installation options, making Vaillant’s High Rise Flue Terminal Kit the most flexible on the market.

Steve Keeton, director of technologies and training at Vaillant, commented: “Our High Rise Flue Terminal Kit and extension were designed to offer compliance without complication. By providing a number of different installation options – top, rear and balcony – we hope to provide a hassle-free route to compliance for our customers, which ticks all of the boxes for safety. With the launch of this new flue kit, our portfolio of products for high rise buildings allows us to offer specification professionals a full suite of high quality Vaillant products for these environments.”
