aroTHERM plus wins again!

Vaillant is delighted to win the Heat Pump Product of the Year Award at the National ACR & Heat Pump Awards with the game changing air source heat pump, the aroTHERM plus! This is the second award the heat pump has won since it’s launch in 2020 after winning Best Heat Pump at the Green Home Awards by the Homebuilding & Renovating Magazine in April.

After being postponed due to the pandemic, the National ACR & Heat Pump Awards took place on 20th October at the highly prestigious Midland Hotel in Manchester. With over 100 entries for the awards, Vaillant won the Heat Pump Product of the Year and was a runner up in the Air Source Project of the Year category, entering a 15th Century Hunting Estate that has recently been equipped with the aroTHERM plus product.

Vaillant has invested heavily in developing an unrivalled heating solution for the housing market which perfectly balances green credentials with performance capabilities. As a forward-thinking organisation, we have exceeded the boundaries of heating and hot water by using natural refrigerant R290 in our unit which has an exceptionally low global warming potential of just 3. From 2022 we will be manufacturing the aroTHERM plus in our RoSPA Gold awarded factory in Belper, Derbyshire.

Alongside the obvious environmental benefits, using R290 enhances the performance of the unit, enabling the aroTHERM plus to run at a higher flow temperature of up to 75°C for hot water. This maximises efficiency as domestic hot water is stored in the cylinder at a useable temperature without the need for a backup heater. Furthermore, the unit can achieve a wider working envelope allowing the unit to operate with ease in temperatures down to -25°C, offering greater location flexibility across the varied UK climate.

The aroTHERM plus is Vaillant’s answer to meet future F-gas regulations whilst providing a tangible solution to the pending changes to the housing market, going above and beyond the minimum requirements to deliver an eco-friendly product designed to drive and deliver the energy change.

Technologies and Training Director, Mark Wilkins comments, “We are thrilled that the aroTHERM plus has been awarded Heat Pump Product of the Year. Heat pumps are a key player in the role of decarbonising the UK housing stock so it is important the technology is recognised and rewarded.

“We hope this award will encourage more installers to upskill and fit heat pumps, giving them faith knowing that heat pumps are a highly regarded technology and can help to lower carbon emissions today.”
