Microgeneration technologies have been identified as the latest energy innovations, enabling householders to generate their own supply of heat or electricity with low running costs. As a manufacturer with energy efficiency at its core, Vaillant has identified microgeneration technologies as a key development in its product portfolio, which will benefit society’s energy and economic savings.
Steve Keeton, Head of System Technologies of Valliant, said: “The event was a big success in demonstrating that the industry is ready and able to meet the low and zero carbon ambitions of Wales and indeed the UK. This we can do, provided that policies are put in place to encourage the development of the multi-microgeneration technology market needed to achieve zero carbon.”
The micropower planning roadshow involved 50 delegates from industry, local authorities, national parks, third sector, energy agencies and the Government. This highlighted the sustainability benefits of microgeneration, including CO2 emission reduction, helping to alleviate fuel poverty and creating skilled green jobs through manufacturing and installing.
Additionally, the roadshow highlighted the planning issues affecting microgeneration technologies including sustainable buildings policy, permitted development and the retrofit market.
