The Gateshead Housing Company currently has over 21,000 properties, with approximately 19,000 on gas-fired central heating systems. Vaillant has supplied high efficiency, condensing ecoTEC boilers for the Decent Home installations in the central, south and west areas of Gateshead.
Gary Stirling, Gas Services Manager at The Gateshead Housing Company, said: “We realised that many of our tenants, including those with young children or the elderly, believed that they could not afford to heat their homes using inefficient products. As a result, we fitted high efficiency Vaillant boilers wherever replacements or new installations were required.”
Dave Lacey, Commercial Director for Vaillant (UK & Ireland) added: “The Gateshead Housing Company elected to use Vaillant because its tenants deserve the highest quality, fuel efficient and reliable boilers in their properties. Our high efficiency boilers ensure both low costs for the end user and minimal running costs throughout the life of the boiler. The Gateshead Housing Company were aware of the reliability of our boilers, as well as our proven service track record and commitment to training our installers, so they knew that their tenants would be in safe hands.”
The Gateshead Housing Company has been working with tenants to improve energy efficiency across its entire housing stock since 2004 and aims to eradicate fuel poverty by 2012.
Vaillant is also providing training in the North East, to ensure that installers are familiar with the entire domestic ecoTEC range of SEDBUK ‘A’ rated combination, system and open vent boilers.
