Vaillant brings entire green portfolio to Ecobuild

  • Listen to the article

12.01.2010: Vaillant, the UK’s leading supplier of heating systems and renewable technologies, will once again be displaying its extensive selection of products at this year’s Ecobuild exhibition. This will include ground source heat pumps, air-to-air heat pumps and Vaillant’s award winning total solar DHW systems, as well as its range of advanced domestic and commercial boilers and cylinders.

Unearthed potential
Vaillant’s geoTHERM range of ground source heat continues to reduce the UK’s dependence on fossil fuels the geoTHERM and the geoTHERM exclusive ground source heat pump range. Using latent energy stored in the ground, Vaillant’s heat pump range can generate hot water for space heating and domestic hot water use, while making a significant contribution towards the reduction of environmental pollution. The geoTHERM draws heat from the earth through a closed ground loop, transfers this energy through a CFC-free refrigerant R407C cycle and outputs usable energy in a higher temperature form to feed underfloor heating or radiator systems. All geoTHERM products are available in outputs from 6kW to 46kW.

Air-to-air style
The climaVAIR portfolio of air-to-air heat pumps is also included in Vaillant’s renewable offering. These units offer high levels of energy efficiency and can generate 3 to 4kW of heat for every 1kW of electricity used in heating mode, providing both environmental and economic savings.

Solar flair
Vaillant’s auroTHERM exclusive vacuum tube solar collectors have been designed for maximum energy absorption and are easy to install in many varied applications. As they work on diffused solar radiation as well as direct sunlight, the collectors will even generate small amounts of energy on partially cloudy days. Multiple panels can easily be fitted together for larger systems.

In addition, Vaillant’s auroTHERM plus VFK 150 and 145 flat plate solar collectors will be on display. These products are only 38kg in weight, making them some of the lightest in their class, while they have a low profile thickness of just 80mm, and can also be sited ‘in’ the roof. There will also be the chance to view the 200-300 litre auroSTOR cylinders that connect to the solar collectors and make up part of Vaillant’s total system solution.

Vaillant will be displaying both types of solar collector at Solar Hub, where a demonstration of the solar tube system will also take place.

Make a full recovery
The recoVAIR heat recovery ventilation unit is capable of recovering up to 95% of heat from exhaust air. Two integral speed controlled DC fans keep running costs low, while airflows are managed so that each passes through the heat exchanger in a ‘counter-flow’, transferring heat from the extracted air to the incoming fresh air supply. This brings the incoming air nearer to room temperature, reducing the amount of additional energy required to heat the property to homeowners’ requirements.

Comfort heating
The full Vaillant range of domestic SEDBUK ‘A’ rated boilers will be on show at Ecobuild, including the renowned ecoTEC exclusive domestic boilers, which offer central heating outputs of 27kW and 30kW. Furthermore, Vaillant will also be presenting a selection of its ecoTEC plus and pro range of high efficiency condensing boilers at the exhibition.

Visitors will also be able to view the ecoTEC commercial range, which are available in two power options – 46kW and 65kW. There will also be the opportunity to look at the ecoCRAFT/3 range of floor standing commercial boilers, available in six power output options ranging from 80-280kW. These can be supported with a comprehensive and simple to use VRC630 boiler management system, which has a weather compensating flow temperature control integrated to further increase efficiency, which can also provide control over multiple boilers in cascade.
