Springboard HA houses and supports 5,500 households, employs over 700 staff and works in 24 local authority areas across London, Essex and Hertfordshire. It is the newest member of the Genesis Housing Group, bringing an emphasis on supported housing for the elderly and for people with special needs.
Elizabeth Towers is a multi-storey tower block that was in need of a new heating plant in its roof top plant room. Five ecoMAX 65kW wall hung condensing boilers have been installed as part of an ongoing programme of refurbishment, using Vaillant ecoMAX 65kW boilers across six residential housing projects owned by Springboard in London and Essex.
The other properties were Catherine Lodge and Charlotte Mews, also in Southend-on-Sea, which had three and two ecoMAX 65 boilers installed respectively; Grevatt Lodge, Pitsea with three ecoMAX 65 boilers; Perry Lodge, Manor Park, London with four new ecoMAX 65 boilers; and two ecoMAX 65 boilers at Chadacre Court, also in London.
Martin Gayfer, managing director of Springboard Housing Association said, “As part of our commitment to the Decent Homes initiative, we always strive to deliver best value for our tenants and ensure that they are in warm, comfortable homes that meet their needs. Vaillant boilers have proved efficient, reliable and straightforward to install, and that is why we continue to use them.”
John Donovan and team at S & S Burner Services Limited was successful in tendering for the installation projects with Springboard Housing and have installed the 19 ecoMAX boilers across this part of Springboard’s portfolio.
Commenting on the installation, John Donovan said, “We install Vaillant domestic boilers as a matter of course for Springboard Housing Association and so we are following suit on the commercial side with the ecoMAX 65kW. We don’t use any other boiler manufacturer by choice because no one else provides the level of back up support Vaillant does after the installation is complete. If anything goes wrong, which is pretty rare anyway because their boilers are so reliable, Vaillant responds quickly and it isn’t a problem. They usually have someone down the next morning to make the repair.”
The ecoMAX range of commercial, high efficiency condensing boilers is available in three power output options - 35kW, 46kW and 65kW and are all SEDBUK Band 'A' rated. They use fuel more economically, using a high performance stainless steel heat exchanger that captures otherwise wasted heat.
Each unit features an easy to use, advanced diagnostic display, which, combined with a single electronic circuit board, simplifies commissioning, servicing and operation. Best in class emissions within European standards are achieved with a fully modulating low NOx burner that automatically matches heat output to demand.
